YOUR WHITSUNDAYS RESORT ESSENTIAL HOLIDAY PACKING LIST

Are you heading to Daydream Island soon for a long-awaited tropical island Whitsundays Resorts holiday?

As we believe the key to a successful resort holiday is rest and relaxation, we have compiled an essential packing list that will save you time and worry.

So what are you waiting for – let’s get packing!

Your Whitsundays Resorts Check List

Swimsuit
Boasting several lagoon swimming pools and beautiful secluded inlets, Daydream Island has no shortage of swimming spots. Girls – don’t forget to pack a cute one-piece swimsuit or bikini and guys – don’t forget your boardshorts!

Sunsafe gear

As the Australian summer can be quite unforgiving, we highly recommend that you protect your skin at all times when you are outside.

Pack a floppy, wide brimmed hat, a cover-up or Rashy for when you are in and out of the water, SPF 30 or higher sunscreen, lipbalm with sunscreen, sunglasses and aloe vera after sun lotion to sooth your skin.

Remember, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Snorkelling Gear

Snorkelling at Daydream Island is quite simply a treat. The crystal clear waters are home to more than 40 marine fish species and 50 coral varieties. You can also snorkel straight off the beach at Lovers Cove.

We recommend packing a mask, snorkel, flippers and water shoes so you can experience Daydream’s underwater world up close. Alternatively, if you don’t have enough room for snorkelling gear in your suitcase, you can hire some from the resort. For more information, ask the friendly staff at the Activities Desk.

One of the benefits of Daydream amongst Whitsunday Resorts is its ability to offer a fabulous Reef experience without having to travel to the outer Great Barrier Reef itself.

Hydration

As you’ll be out in the sun, it’s important to drink lots of fluids and stay hydrated.

Bring a water bottle and a cooler-insulated bag so you can drink on the go. Otherwise, it’s just a short walk to the resort’s many food and beverage outlets for a drink and some lunch or a light snack.

Relaxation

There are just a few more things you need to pack for a truly relaxing break.

First, you need a fluffy beach towel to lie on, a music player or iPhone loaded with your favourite tunes, headphones and a novel (or e-Reader).

Daydream’s Beautiful Whitsundays Accommodation

Now that you have your essential packing list sorted it’s time to turn your attention to your accommodation.

Daydream offers a variety of Whitsundays accommodation options to suit your needs whether you’re travelling for a romantic getaway or for that memorable family holiday.

Standard Garden rooms offer a leafy green outlook and from the Garden Balcony rooms an outlook across a sparkling pool, tropical garden or lush rainforest beckons – where you can breathe in the fresh sea air.

An Ocean Balcony room will have you looking out across the picturesque marina or beautiful Mermaids Beach. From your elevated balcony, or courtyard at ground level, you’ll enjoy partial ocean views, with space for relaxation and entertaining.

Daydream Island’s Coral Ocean Balcony rooms are perfect for watching the sunrise from your balcony or courtyard and feature more spacious rooms located in the coral wing of the resort and uninterrupted views across the azure blue waters of the Whitsundays Passage.

A Reef Suite feels much like an island home with two queen beds, a sitting area and generous balcony to take in the magnificent island views.  Perfect for young families, or for those who enjoy a little extra space. Families are also able to book a Reef Suite and a Daydreamer Suite together which can interconnect.

Perfect for honeymooners or those enjoying a special escape, the resort’s Daydreamer Suite is an expansive suite all about the spectacular Lovers Cove view, which can be enjoyed from every aspect.

Whitsundays accommodation features some exclusive retreats and Daydream’s Ocean Paradise Suite is no exception. The Ocean Paradise Suite exudes pure luxury, wrapped with incredible ocean views from two balconies. With a king-sized bed, spacious dual shower and spa bath and separate living and dining room, this feels so much like home, you may never want to leave.

Daydream Island is such a special place for families, the resort has made it easy to enjoy it in comfort. Family Rooms consist of two Resort rooms with an interconnecting door.

Another feature of Daydream is its intimate size. You will find most of the resort’s features and attractions within easy reach by foot from your accommodation.

We hope our Essential Holiday Packing List and Daydream accommodation guide will help you get sorted before your next Whitsundays resorts holiday. Now, where’s the water…?

There’s no other island quite like Daydream, on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. With a fringing reef a mere flipper’s kick from the beach and a Living Reef on the island itself, it’s an incredible place to not only live and learn about one of the world’s greatest natural wonders, but to experience it first hand.
