The Whitsundays Named in The Best Islands in the World

The Whitsundays has been voted by Condé Nast Traveler readers as fourth in the “Top 20 Islands in the World” category in the magazine’s annual Readers’ Choice Awards.

Daydream Island makes up one of the 74 islands in The Whitsundays in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef.

The Whitsundays is one of Australia’s best-loved holiday destinations, and is renowned for sailing, beautiful beaches, iconic island resorts and for exploring the Great Barrier Reef.

The Whitsunday Islands also boast iconic attractions like the perfectly shaped Heart Reef, which can only be seen by seaplane or helicopter in the Whitsundays, the swirling sands of Hill Inlet and world-famous Whitehaven Beach.

Flaunting seven kilometres of pristine white 98% silica sands and turquoise waters, Whitehaven Beach has been voted Australia’s Best Beach for many years and is a bucket-list item for travellers all over the world.

The Readers’ Choice Awards have been unveiled in the November issue of discerning travel publication Condé Nast Traveler.

There’s no other island quite like Daydream, on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. With a fringing reef a mere flipper’s kick from the beach and a Living Reef on the island itself, it’s an incredible place to not only live and learn about one of the world’s greatest natural wonders, but to experience it first hand.
