Transfer Information

The ferry departure/arrival times are timed to give the best possible connection with most flights. Priority is given to arriving guests and getting you to your Resort as quickly as possible. There will be a Cruise Whitsundays 'Resort Connections' service to meet arriving flights and whisk you away to Daydream Island. Similarly ferry departures and coach connections (for Whitsunday Coast Airport) are operated for most departing flights. Prior to booking your flight, it is important to check with Daydream Island Reservations or Cruise Whitsundays to ensure your chosen flight is serviced by a connecting ferry.

Arrival transfers

Passengers arriving into Great Barrier Reef Airport, (HTI) Hamilton Island
On arrival please make your way to the Daydream Island Airport Kiosk. Daydream Island Resort and Spa has a check-in kiosk at Great Barrier Reef Airport (HTI) to help its guests get on with their holiday sooner and immerse themselves in the magic of Daydream. Guests will be given their room keys and a tote bag containing information about the island. Guests will still be responsible for checking in their own luggage with the Cruise Whitsundays; however bags will be delivered directly to guests’ rooms after check-in. Please ensure all luggage is clearly labelled with your full name and contact phone number.

The ferries operate directly from the Airport pontoon just 100 metres from the arrivals hall. There is a ferry to meet all flights with a departure as close as possible to touchdown. Check in time at Daydream Island is 2pm. If your room isn’t ready on arrival luggage will be stored in our arrivals and departure lounge in which you can access.

Flights arriving into Whitsunday Coast Airport (PPP) Proserpine
On arrival at the airport please collect your luggage and ensure it is clearly labelled with your full name and contact phone number. Cruise Whitsundays have a dedicated coach with a meet and greet service at the Airport. As soon as all passengers have boarded, the coach will go directly to Abel Point Marina, Airlie Beach where a ferry departure is timed for as good a Resort connection as possible. The coach sector will be provided by our good friends at “Whitsunday Shuttle Service”.

Car parking for Daydream Island Resort and Spa guests and day trippers is only available in the pay and park areas at Abel Point Marina.

There are two Pay N Park areas - Abel Point Marina car parking area which is managed by CARE Car parks; and the Whitsunday Shire Council car park area. The cost is $8.00 per 24 hour period for both car park areas.

Abel Point Marina car park – guests can book up to 1 week and machines will only accept coins, change can be obtained from the Abel Point Marina office (open 8am to 5pm – 7 days a week). Guests can obtain a hand written ticket from the Marina office for stays longer than 1 week.

Whitsunday Shire Council car park – guests can book up to 1 week and machines will accept coins and credit card payment.

Return transfers

Passengers departing ex Abel Point Marina
Checkout at Daydream Island is 10am however you can choose 24hours prior to travel what time you would like to depart Daydream on the ferry if you are in no rush to get back to Mackay. You can leave your luggage in our arrivals and departure lounge with the porters. For all other transfers, please ensure that luggage is labelled and left in the rooms for our porters to collect prior to checkout. All departing passengers are met at Abel Point Marina, and transferred to Whitsunday Coast Airport (Proserpine) with Whitsunday Shuttle Service.

Passengers departing ex Great Barrier Reef Airport (HTI) Hamilton Island
Vessels depart Daydream Island from the jetty and arrive into the Hamilton Island Airport jetty just 100 metres from Check In. On arrival they will have to collect their luggage from the Cruise Whitsundays porters and check in for their flight.
