If you live a busy, bustling city life or at least one that’s filled with lots of activity, you can become overwhelmed and drained rather quickly. Getting an island vacation can provide a welcome break, not just from your routine but also from the stresses of your city life. And these results in improved mental and physical wellbeing after your holidays. Not only will it relax you and recharge your senses, but it will also energise you for new opportunities and help you appreciate what we often take for granted on a day-to-day basis.

Island life is unique in many ways. This is not just manifested in their beautiful beaches with powdery sand and crystal clear waters, but also in traditions where it is true that the journey is more important than the destination. It’s this authenticity, paired with relaxation and nature’s simple beauty, that makes island vacations a refreshing change of pace – everywhere in the world! Also, as exciting as the island vacation is, the packing for the same can be a bit stressful. That is why we created a tropical vacation packing list to help you in all possible ways and sort all your query about what things to carry whilst travelling.

Packing list for vacation

1- The suitable clothing

Packing clothes for island vacation requires a systematic plan. You need to pack a wide range of clothing and accessories, which can quickly get out of control if you don’t have a system in place. After you’ve planned your outfit for each day on the beach, you have to pack your swimwear as well. Carry your jumpsuits, bikinis, beautiful tops, beach pants, shorts, swim dresses, floral dresses, skirts and all others as per your requirement for an island vacation.

2- Shoes

You likely will be walking a lot during your vacation on the island, whether it’s off to the beach, on a tour bus, or exploring the city. And so, flip flops become essential. You can do away with them and still go to a vacation island. They are comfortable and convenient, and you can use them if you want to go to the beach or feel like walking around in your room. However, there are also other shoes that you can bring on your trip as long as they’re within the allowed luggage weight limit. Try travelling with at least one pair of flip flops, some cute sandals, sneakers and flats.

3- Basic toiletries

It’s tempting to get all of the toiletries in your resort, but people prefer their products and are more comfortable with them in most cases. So, these become the essential things to pack for an island vacation. Pack what you use every day, like sunscreen, toothpaste, shampoo, towel, facewash and other stuff. But keep in mind to be minimalistic so that you don’t have to bring too much extra weight in your luggage.

4- Floatation strap

A floatation strap is a must in your island vacation checklist. Bring along a flotation strap for your next snorkelling, swimming or boating trip to the island. That way, if you drop your phone or camera in the water, it will float instead of sinking to the bottom of the ocean.

5- Underwater camera

A compact and affordable waterproof camera is an excellent choice for island vacation photos. This type of camera is also ideal for waterfall hikes or rainy days. Tropical vacations present the unique challenge of photographing wet subjects, so you should get waterproof photography equipment that can be submerged in water.

6- Sand-resistant blanket

To keep away sand from ruining your day at the beach, a sand-resistant beach blanket is your best bet. These blankets are lightweight and quick-drying, and some of them even have sand weights on the edges to keep them from blowing away.

7- Waterproof backpack

If you want your belongings to stay completely dry and safe, even if they fall in the water, you’ll need a dry bag. A dry bag will protect your valuables even if you fall into the water while hiking a river, crossing it in a boat or raft, or participating in some other adventure.
